What a fantastic evening! My beloved husband bought us tickets to the 8pm showing of one of our favorite plays, A Christmas Carol, at Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at Centenary University in Hackettstown, NJ. The show did not disappoint.
The theatre was about half full due to Covid social distancing regulations which made it very roomy and enjoyable to see. There was no one sitting to the left or right of us and there was plenty of extra seats to put our bags and coats on. Mask requirements for patrons were on the honor system. If you were vaccinated-no mask was required. If not, you were supposed to put them on.
The performers were diverse and of all ages. Perfectly matched for their parts. There were many great scenes but the one that stood out most to me was when Scrooge woke up in his bed after being visited by the three ghosts with a changed heart and mind about giving to the poor and needy. He stated, "everyone should do their part in their own corner of the world to help." Way to go, Scrooge! Way to go players at Centenary Stage Company!
Tickets are on sale through Dec 13, 2021.
