Last year, I read several amazing books; Heather Holliman's Seated with Christ which helps people identify and be confident in who they are in Christ, and Emily Lex's, Freely and Lightly, which helps people be contented with their life in Christ.
Both of these books helped me identify some character traits I needed to get rid of as well as new ones I needed to put on. They also helped me hone what God was purposing in my life so I could make time for the most important things, God, family, my work, and writing goals.
This year I've set three goals: To accept my seat with Christ, be confident in the work He's given me to do, and make the most of my time by planning out my work week by week. This will mean keeping a schedule to include the important things I want to accomplish while also cushioning in to enjoy myself.
As for my word of the year, it's shrewd. I chose this word because when Jesus sent his disciples out he told them to be shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. This year I want to think less about how others think of me and more about how I can please my Father as I allow him to fulfill his plans for my life and love others more truthfully and graciously. I will keep you posted on how that's going.
I hope you've made time to reflect on 2022 and pray for guidance in 2023 to help you start the New Year on the right note.
Reflection Questions:
What worked for you last year and what didn't? What goals will you make this year? What word(s) will you think of this year to help you move forward in the plans God has for you?
Happy New Year, Everyone!
